Best Playa Del Carmen Beach Club

Best Playa Del Carmen Beach Club

Xpu Ha Beach Club(pronounced ish pu ha), which is arguably the best Playa Del Carmen Beach Club is actually a short twenty minute drive south of Playa towards Tulum. Why do I think so? Well, I have visited many in central Playa and up and down the Mayan Riviera and I really like most of them but Xpu Ha is my favorite. At Xpu Ha Beach the blue turquoise water is crystal clear and the beach is rarely crowded compared to other beaches in the city. I like to cool off with a refreshing swim and then return back to my lounge chair to relax with a cold drink and watch the happy people pass by.

There is snorkeling and water sports activities available or you can just relax and swing in a hammock and sip on a coconut water. The price for entrance and parking is 40 pesos per person but they will refund it if you show your Best Playa Del Carmen Beach Clubreceipt from the beach club. This is to cut down on beach visitors from taking advantage of the parking area at this popular spot. It is possible to park quite close to the beach and club which is another plus for me since some places in the city lack parking.

Prices for beers and drinks from the bar and restaurant are very reasonable and they have an extensive
menu and bar selection. You will find many of the beach club favorites like fresh grilled fish fillets and ceviche and classics like hamburgers and fries. You can expect to pay around $40. to $60. USD for an afternoon of food and drinks for 2 people. Not Bad.

Another great attraction is the live Cuban Band that plays on Sunday afternoons. The singer is an amazing talent and the whole band gets everybody up and dancing with their Cuban styled latin classics. The music, the food the ambience and the clean, uncrowded, white powder sand beach make Xpu Ha Beach Club my top pick from the many beach clubs you can sample in the Riviera Maya.

Xcacel Beach

3. Xcacel
This natural, rugged beach south of Playa del Carmen is great for body-surfing and iguana spotting. It also has a small cenote filled with fish, accessed by a path through the mangroves. Xcacel is the most underdeveloped beach around Playa del Carmen, known for its untouched natural beauty.
4. Xpu-ha
This lesser known beach is a hidden gem on the Mayan Riviera. Blindingly white sand, bright blue water and a few simple beach bars make this a great spot to hang out, especially on Saturday afternoons when a live band takes to the stage of La Playa beach club to entertain the chilled out crowd.

5. Akumal
